How to Make Gulab Jamun
- Combine the milk powder, all-purpose flour, and baking soda in a mixing bowl.
- Mix in ghee until crumbly, resembling wet sand.
- Gradually add milk, kneading until a smooth, soft dough forms.
- In a saucepan, bring sugar and water to a boil, then add crushed cardamom pods and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in rosewater, adjusting to taste.
- Pinch off small portions of dough and roll into smooth balls.
- In a deep frying pan, heat oil or ghee over medium heat until hot.
- Fry the dough balls until golden brown, about 5 to 7 minutes.
- Transfer the fried balls to warm sugar syrup and soak for at least 30 minutes.
